和爸爸一起阅读

Earlier in June, we launched our “Reading Together Movement” for the second year, to remind us how easy it is to spend some time each day reading with our children no matter the medium, and to enjoy the special moments that will be remembered by our children for years!

Our theme this year was “Reading with Dads”.  Very often, mummies are the default person doing story reading with children in a family, but a research at Harvard University has found that questions posed by men when reading to children often sparks “imaginative discussions”, therefore better for children’s language development as they tend to be challenged more!

Reading Panda reckons mums and dads should take turns reading to their children to strike a good balance.  Amidst Father’s Day on 16th June, we took the opportunity to encourage more dads to read with their children by joining our Reading Together Movement 2019!

We had asked our readers to share with us:
1) A book recommendation that their children enjoyed reading WITH DAD, or anything that your child loves to read WITH DAD, e.g. food menu, toys catalogue, and

2) Photos of their own designs of a DIY pop-up Father’s Day card using our free printable template.

It was a meaningful event and we had received many replies and sharings.  Here are some of the books / materials that our little readers love reading with their dads:

Seems we have successfully put smiles on many children and dads this Father’s Day!  Below is a selection of our participants’ Father’s Day Pop-Up Card designs.  We hope you have all enjoyed and benefited from our Reading Together Movement 2019 one way or another!

Thank you for taking part and we wish you all many more happy reading together with dads (and moms)!
